Digital Goa, May 12 – Goa Konkani Akademi has announced the compilation of the “Konkani Bhasha Sahitya Shilpkar Kosh,” an encyclopedia intended to document individuals who have contributed to the Konkani language and cultural movement.
According to the Akademi, the project will cover pioneers, activists, writers, artists, researchers, teachers, journalists and digital media contributors associated with Konkani language, literature, folk art, music, cinema, theatre and education.
The Akademi has invited submissions under categories including the Konkani language movement, literature, performing arts, research and education, journalism, radio, television and digital media.
Those submitting entries must provide personal details, record of work, awards received and a passport-sized photograph. Entries must be submitted in Konkani in Devanagari Unicode INSCRIPT format in a Word file, with a 500-word limit.
The Akademi has also sought details of deceased contributors through their families or acquaintances. A committee appointed by the Akademi will oversee the compilation process, with submissions to be made through a Google form Link https://forms.gle/BwSPJaHNdetkbhWX9
To ensure the Kosh is comprehensive, the Akademi is inviting information across
several categories:
Language Movement: Freedom fighters and activists who participated
directly or indirectly in the Konkani movement.
Literature: Poets, novelists, short story writers, essayists, translators,
children’s authors, and writers creating literature in all Konkani dialects.
Konkani Stage and Performing Arts: Playwrights, directors, cinema artists,
Tiatrists, musicians, dancers, and folk artists.
Research and Education: Konkani linguists, lexicographers (dictionary
makers), teachers, professors, and researchers.
Journalism and Digital Media: Those working for Konkani dailies,
periodicals, Radio/TV, as well as digital media (Social Media/Blogs).
To ensure this encyclopedia is recognized as a valuable global document, contributors
should include the following details:
Personal Information: Full name, residential address, date of birth, education,
contact number, and email.
Record of Work: Published books, plays/Tiatrs/films performed, social work,
and specific contributions or services rendered to the Konkani language.
Awards: Honors and awards received from the government or prestigious
institutions.
Photograph: A clear, passport-sized photograph of the concerned individual
is mandatory.
The complete information must be submitted in Konkani (Devanagari script)
using UNICODE – INSCRIPT typing only (Word File), within a limit of 500 words.
