Digital Goa, May 22 – The Goa government has proposed converting four land parcels together admeasuring 31,54,256 square metres into No Development Zone (NDZ) using provisions under Section 39-A(1) of the Goa Town and Country Planning Act, 1974, covering ecologically sensitive areas including paddy fields, khazan lands, salt pans, orchards, mangroves etc. The proposed zoning changes in the Regional Plan for Goa 2021 include 13,01,625 sq mtr (13 lakh) at Loutolim comprising mangroves and paddy fields, 13,04,343 (13 lakh) sq mtr at Morombi-o—Pequeno in Tiswadi, 1,03,200 (1 lakh) sq mts at Navelim in Salcete, and 4,55,088 (4.55 lakh) sq metres at Mudra in Tiswadi. The government has invited public suggestions and objections within 30 days. Submissions are to be sent to the Chief Town Planner (Planning), 2nd Floor, Dempo Tower, Patto Plaza, Panaji, following which the proposals along with public feedback will be placed before the TCP Board for further decision.
