National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has extended the closure of a stretch of NH-566 between P41 (Vales Junction) and P16 (Vishal Mega Mart) till August 31, 2026, to facilitate the safe and speedy completion of the Verna flyover project. According to a public notice issued by NHAI’s Project Director and Highway Administrator, the diversion was originally scheduled to end on July 31, 2026. However, delays in utility shifting, unforeseen shortages of essential materials including bitumen and LPG, and the additional time required to safely complete the works have necessitated an extension, states the public notice issued in this regards. As part of the traffic management plan, all vehicular traffic will continue to be diverted from the main carriageway of NH-566 onto the existing internal road. Access to local residents and establishments along the closed stretch will remain available through designated routes.
