Digital Goa, June 3 – Leaders of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Goa BJP president Damu Naik, urging the speedy implementation of political reservation for Scheduled Tribes in the state.The delegation included Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar, MLA’s Govind Gaude and Anton Vaz, Prakash Velip and Vasudev Meng Gaonkar. The delegation stressed the need to fast-track the process and ensure that ST reservation is in place before 2027 state assembly polls. The leaders informed that a delegation led by CM Pramod Sawant is expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah shortly to discuss the issue and pursue its implementation.
