Digital Goa, July 12 – A woman from Navelim was allegedly cheated of ₹3.38 lakh by a man she befriended on Instagram. Police said, between Mach to May 2026, the accused gained her trust through online chats and repeatedly sought financial help for personal reasons, inducing her to transfer money through UPI transactions. After receiving the money, the accused neither met the complainant nor returned the amount. Margao Town Police are investigating the matter.
