Digital Goa, July 17 – A one-month grace period will be given for motorists to renew and regularise their vehicle insurance, during which AI-enabled traffic cameras will not issue fines for insurance-related violations, informed Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho. However, the cameras will continue to penalise other traffic offences, he clarified. Godinho said strict action against uninsured vehicles will begin after the grace period. He also reiterated that the AI traffic camera system has been introduced to improve road safety and encourage disciplined driving, rather than merely generate fines.
