Digital Goa, July 30 – FDA carried out a surveillance drive across Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Arpora and Anjuna on July 27, inspecting 10 food businesses, including restaurants, retailers and food vendors. During the drive, seven establishments were directed to suspend operations until they comply with prescribed food safety norms. Officials said the action was taken after several violations were detected during inspections. In one case, where a complaint was received through social media, a repeat offender was ordered to close its establishment, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the business for continued non-compliance, informed FDA officials.The FDA said similar enforcement drives will continue across Goa, particularly in tourist hotspots, to ensure food safety and hygiene standards.
