Digital Goa, July 30 – Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has defended the government’s decision to hold a three-day Monsoon Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, asserting that the duration has been fixed after assessing the volume of legislative business scheduled before the House. “Session has been decided according to the business,” he said. The session is slated to be held from August 31 to September 2. Responding to criticism over the short duration of the session, the CM said three days were adequate to transact the government’s business. He maintained that the number of sitting days was determined based on the agenda and legislative workload. The Opposition, however, has strongly criticised the decision, accusing the government of limiting opportunities to debate key public issues.
