Opposition to seek longer Assembly session, meets to finalise strategy

Digital Goa, August 3 – Opposition MLAs met on Monday to chalk out a joint strategy for the upcoming Assembly session beginning on August 31 and decided to approach the Speaker seeking an extension of the three-day session. Addressing a joint press conference, Opposition leaders said the House is scheduled to take up 25 Demands for Grants on Day 1, 22 on Day 2 and 36 on Day 3, leaving little time for meaningful discussion. The meeting was attended by leaders of the Congress, AAP and RGP. Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai said he had not been informed about the meeting. LoP Yuri Alemao, however, clarified that a WhatsApp message had been sent to Sardesai and displayed it to the media.
