High Court has declined interim relief seeking a stay on the 100-point reservation roster and seat matrix for postgraduate medical courses at Goa Medical College (GMC) for the 2026–2027 academic year. Admissions will proceed under the roster system, Advocate General Devidas Pangam informed. Pangam said the State introduced reservation in postgraduate medical courses in 2023, but without a roster, reserved category candidates were unable to secure seats in certain specialisations based on their merit rankings. The roster introduced this year earmarks specific seats for reserved categories, similar to the All India Quota system. General category doctors challenged the roster and sought an interim stay, which the government opposed. The court has admitted the main petition but refused interim relief today.
