Digital Goa, Aug 9-that Department of Orthopedics at GMC successfully conducted its first robotic surgery. GMC is the first government hospital in the country to have conducted robotic-assisted surgery. The 45-minute long surgery was conducted on a 67-year-old patient from Margao with knee arthritis with the help of an advanced robotic arm. Due to minimal incision, insignificant blood loss, and absence of post-operative drainage the patient witnessed pain-free walk the next day, informed authorities.
