Digital Goa, Aug 24 – Paresh Sinai Savordekar, accused driver in the horrifying Banastari bridge accident case which claimed 3 lives has been granted conditional bail by the High Court. Paresh was arrested for rash and negligent driving under the influence of alcohol in the accident that took place on Aug 6. While granting him bail, Court said that since substantial investigation is over, his further custody is not required. “We also said that his further police custody is not required,” informed Public Prosecutor Shailendra Bhobe. Crime Branch told the court that they have ascertained that Paresh was driving the car during the accident through evidences. Paresh has been released on bail bond of Rs one lakh with sureties in the like amount. He has been asked to report to the Investigating Officer(IO) upon first week of the release, everyday from 10 am to 1 pm and thereafter as and when called. He has been asked not to leave the state of Goa and give his passport details to IO. After public allegations of shoddy investigation by Mardol police, the case was handed over to Crime Branch. Court is hearing the anticipatory bail plea of his wife Meghana Savordekar who was accompanying him along with 3 children during the accident night. As per eyewitness reports the car was being driven by a woman. Police had claimed that Meghana had taken charge of the driving seat after the accident took place. Both the husband and the wife were allegedly drunk during the accident. Three persons were killed and 3 others were seriously injured in the accident.
