Digital Goa, Oct 22 – Bhoma locals held a protest meet today asserting their demand for a bypass and scrapping of the highway expansion plan for their village. The villagers warned the government to take necessary action within the 15 days deadline given by them which ends in 7 days. They demanded that the govt authorities should come and explain to them about the details of the expansion plan and attend to all their queries. The issue is slated to come up for discussion in the Gram Sabha to be held on Oct 29. They warned that they will come to the streets to defend their homes, temples, and village from destruction. PWD’s National Highway officials who had gone to undertake a survey of structures which would be demolished for the proposed Bhoma highway expansion on Wednesday, Oct 18 were also forced to retreat following protest by locals.
