Digital Goa, Nov 6 – ‘Catching Dust’ a film from United Kingdom directed by Stuart Gatt will be the opening film for this year’s IFFI. ‘About Dry Grasses’ a film from France directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan will be Mid-fest Film while ‘The Featherweight’ from US directed by Robert Kolodny will be the Closing Film. Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur briefed the media about the 54th International Film Festival will be held from Nov 20 to Nov 28 in Goa. In all 198 films will be shown in International Section this year including 13 world premiers. 300 international film projects will be showcased this year in the 17th edition of the Film Bazaar for production, distribution or sales. 19 award-winning films from various prestigious international film festivals this year, have been assorted in the IFFI Kaleidoscope this years. Over 20 ‘Masterclasses’ and ‘In Conversation’ sessions with eminent filmmakers, cinematographers, and actors will be another attraction of IFFI. In all 32 entries have been received across 10 languages from 15 OTT platforms for the specially constituted award for OTT. More than 270 films will be showcased during the festival at 4 venues – INOX Panjim (4), Maquinez Palace(1), INOX Porvorim(4), Z Square Samrat Ashok (2).
