Digital Goa, Dec 11- Center for Excellence in Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery will be established at Goa Medical College and Hospital, informed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. He held a meeting with Dr Nishit Shah, prominent ENT and skull base specialist from Mumbai, along with doctors from GMC, to formulate a plan to establish the Center for Excellence. Endoscopic skull base surgery, performed through the nasal cavity with endoscopes, offers several advantages, including reduced operating time, access to previously inaccessible areas and large tumors, absence of facial scars, improved functional outcomes, and shorter hospital stays. “Establishing this center will facilitate high-end surgery, maintaining the highest quality standards at an affordable cost,” he added.
