Govt considering regularising illegal houses on govt land after completion of survey: Revenue Minister Babush Monserrat

Digital Goa, Feb 10 – Goa govt will take up survey to find out unauthorized constructions built in govt land. Constructions which have been built before certain stipulated years back will be considered for regularization, informed Revenue Minister Babush Monserrate today. Government has received in all 789 applications for regularisation of illegal houses in Government and Communidade land, the house was told in a written reply.
Govt is considering regularization of structures in communidade and private lands but what about those in govt lands? he questioned. When media queried about constructions on govt lands by migrants, the minister counter questioned as to who is a migrant. “These people have been staying in Goa for over 15 years, 20 years , 40 years”, he added. When pointed out that CM has assured amendment to communidade code to regularize houses in communidade land, Babush said, “Telling and doing are two different things. It is high time we do it as everyone is involved,” he added.
