Old Goa to Divja circle via Ribandar road to be closed from March 10-April 30

Digital Goa, March 5- The Entire stretch of road from Basilica of Bom Jesus (Old Goa) junction along the causeway upto Divja circle (Panaji) will be closed from March 10 to April 30,2024 for traffic moving from Old Goa to Panaji and vice versa due to ongoing Smart City works. The Traffic will be diverted towards the NH 748 (Kadamba Bypass Road). However, the intermediate stretches will be closed as follows and necessary arrangements for traffic diversion for locals will be implemented. The final leg of the proposed project, scheduled to begin in four phases starting March 6, 2024, involves activities like laying sewerage and gas lines.

Digital Goa, Mar 5- Small and large plantations, businesses and individuals in Goa will soon be able to supply biomass such as residual plantation waste, tender and dry coconut waste, betelnut waste, cashew shells, tree waste etc in their possession to manufacturers of Biomass Briquettes at the click of a button. Goa govt has initiated the process of establishing a Digital Marketplace for Biomass aggregation in the state. Stakeholders will be able to participate in the marketplace using mobile app for offering and confirming supply of biomass in their possession. Collection services will be operated by the marketplace using dedicated collection machinery with local business partners engaged for the purpose of collection. Local storage warehouses will be set up by the marketplace through collaboration with local businesses. Storage locations will supply aggregated Biomass to biomass processors such as briquette manufacturers, pellet manufacturers, bio fuel manufacturers etc. The marketplace will facilitate supply of aggregated biomass with predeclared quality parameters to the processors. Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has invited Expression of Interest for the Selection of eligible Firm /Agency to establish the marketplace.
