Digital Goa, Mar 11- State Cabinet today approved passing of Ordinance specifying that beach shacks and temporary beach structures on public beaches do not need construction permissions from the TCP Dept as well as the Panchayats. The ordinance will be applicable for existing as well as future structures, said CM Sawant during Cabinet briefing. The Cabinet today approved the Goa Erection of Shacks, Temporary Structures on public beaches Regulation and Control ordinance 2023. The ordinance incorporates statutes to govern the erection, control and regulation of beach shacks and temporary structures erected on the beaches as per the Beach Shack policy. TCP approval and construction licence from Panchayat will not be needed as the structures are temporary in nature, however trade related permissions will be mandatory, said Sawant. Requisite permissions will be granted through the State Tourism and Environment Dept . The decision to bring the ordinance was taken as several problems had started cropping up recently, he added. The decision is likely to help some of the structures marked for sealing by the High Court in the North Goa beach belt.
