Goa’s voter count at 11.73 lakh; women outnumber man with voter gender ratio of 1063

Digital Goa, Mar 16 – Goa’s voter count as of today stands at 11,73,028 and 2.1 % of these are new voters. Of these 6 lakh plus are female voters while 5.7 lakh odd are male voters with a gender ratio of 1063, informed Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) -Goa Ramesh Verma. At around 5.95 lakhs, the number of voters in South Goa are more than the number of voters in North Goa which stand at around 5.8 lakh.
▪️ 103 more Polling stations as compared to 2019 elections
1725 polling stations – 863 in North Goa and 862 in South Goa (103 more polling stations as compared to 2019 wherein the number stood at 1622)
▪️ Election Seizure Management System app to record data directly from field
CEO Goa will be using the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) Mobile App to digitize data for intercepted and Seized items (Cash/Liquor/Drugs/ Precious Metal/Freebies/Other Items) direct from field through Mobile App during Model Code Conduct.
▪️ Home voting for senior citizens and Persons with Disability
Home voting facility will be provided to 11,640 voters who are 85 plus and also to PwDs with 40% and above disability. Number of PwD voters in Goa are 9,372.
▪️ Law & order and vigil through 7000 police, 14 companies and flying squad
7,000 police personnel and 14 armed force companies will ensure that law and order is maintained in Goa during the election period. 2 companies have already started their field march in North & South Goa. 16 Control rooms set up – 7 in North Goa and 8 in South Goa. 38 flying squads- 21 in North Goa and 17 in South Goa will keep a strict vigil on malpractices.

▪️ 218 model polling stations including green, those managed by women, PwD, youth etc
▪️ 12 transgender voters, 3 in North Goa and 9 in South Goa. One of the State icon is also a transgender
▪️ Citizen complaints to be addressed in 100 minutes
Citizens can complain through the Citizen Vigil App. Election office has to respond to the complaint within 20 minutes and resolve the complaint within 100 minutes. Voter Awareness App has also been launched
▪️ Model Code of conduct comes into force from today
▪️ Last date of filing nominations: April 19
▪️ Scrutiny of nominations: April 20
▪️ Withdrawal date: April 22
▪️ Date of Polling: May 7
▪️ Counting date : June 4
