June 21- Goa govt has increased VAT on Petrol and Diesel in the State. Due to this petrol prices will be hiked in Goa by Rs 1 while diesel prices will go up by 36 paise. The hiked fuel prices will be effective from Saturday, June 22. VAT on motor spirit which is commonly known as petrol including ethanol blended petrol sold by public sector as well as private sector oil marketing companies to their authorized retail outlets within the State has been hiked to 21.5 % and for High Speed Diesel Oil (HSD) it has been hiked to 17.5 %, states the notification issued in this regards by Dept of Finance. This Notification shall come into force with effect from the 22nd day of June, 2024.
