July 31- Sugarcane farmers today asserted that they will serve legal notice to the government over restarting of the Sanjeevani Sahakari sugar factory. The factory was closed down 5 years back with assurance that it will be restarted. Govt has now told the State Legislative Assembly that despite advertising for 3 years, they have not been able to find a bidder for redevelopment of the factory including manufacture of ethanol on PPP mode. However, farmers said that they had put the govt in contact with a contractor who was interested in running the factory, but govt did not revert back, alleged farmers. There are 3565 Share holders of the Karkhana, out of which 132 are Societies and 3433 are farmers as per written reply in the assembly. Government is assessing possibility of setting up of Truck Terminus, Compress Bio Gas (CBG) project and Ground Mounted Solar power plant at Sugar factory’s vacant land on PPP mode, the reply further added.
