Aug 9 – CM Pramod Sawant today chaired high level meeting of the Goa State Disaster Management Committee regarding landslides in the state in the presence of State Govt Officials today. CM also took review of the landslide incidents in Satrem, Sanvordem and Malpe Pernem and also took details on the Satark Rainfall Threshold Based Warning system for preparedness to avoid disasters.
Collector North issued show cause notice for not inviting PWD CE and CCF for the meeting
Incidentally, Goa State Disaster Management Authority has issued a show-cause notice to North Goa Collector for not intimating PWD Chief Engineer and Chief Conservator of Forest about the meeting. The Collector who is also the chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority has been asked to submit explanation in this regards within 72 hours.
