Aug 24- With increase in rainfall activity in the state, water levels of several rivers in Goa including Mhadei, Valvanti and Ramada have increased significantly. Pumping of water has commenced by flood water pumping station at Sanquelim to prevent the water from coming inside the market. Shop owners and vendors from Bicholim market have urged the authorities to ensure that water is not released from mining pits near the town, over fear of flooding. Incidentally, IMD has issued orange alert for the state for today and tomorrow.
