KTCL facing shortage of 150 buses: Tuenkar

Oct 4- KTCL is facing shortage of around 150 buses, informed Chairperson Ulhas Tuenkar. 85 of the 150 E-buses, order for which was given by the govt way back in 2021 are yet to be delivered by Hyderabad based Olectra Company, Tuenkar further informed. Incidentally, KTCL has already issued show cause notice to the company. KTC is in the process of procuring 50 new diesel buses for interstate routes, said Tuenkar. 55 old buses have been scrapped and within next 2 months 25 more buses will be scrapped, he added.
Tuenkar was responding to query regarding KTC bus accident at Chimbel today allegedly due to brake failure. If any negligence is found on part of the KTC employees, due action will be taken, he said.
