Nov 1 – Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly has dismissed the disqualification petition filed against 8 defected MLAs filed by ex GPCC President Girish Chodankar. Speaker dismissed the petition after two years saying that the arguments of the petitioner are factually and legally incorrect when he says that the Speaker has decided about the merger in the order dated Sept 9, 2022. Speaking to media, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar justified the delay in view of the multiple hearings and submissions. However, I did tried to fast track the order, he said. If the petitioner is not happy with the order, he is free to challenge it.
