Goa govt spending over Rs 300 crore annually on cleanliness: CM

Dec 16- Goa govt is spending over Rs 300 crore annually to keep the state clean, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Hardly any state in India spends that kind of money on cleanliness, he added. Greenery is maintained in 65 to 70 % part of the state while balancing wildlife areas, CZMP, development and livelihood options, claimed Sawant. He added that Goa was one of the first states to give its consent for the Eco Sensitive Areas(ESA) in the Western Ghats, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development. He was speaking at a book release program today.
