Absconding Sawantwadi man arrested in Maharashtra for murder of Bicholim woman

    Digital Goa, May 21 – The 34-year-old Sawantwadi native who was absconding after allegedly murdering a 58-year-old woman at Chikne-Kudne in Bicholim, has been arrested by Goa police with assistance from Maharashtra police. The case is suspected to have stemmed from a grudge over a rejected marriage proposal. The accused, identified as Sagar Rawool, a native of Shirshinge in Sawantwadi, was arrested in Maharashtra and is being brought back to Goa. According to Bicholim Police, the victim, Shaila Ghadi, was allegedly killed by the accused by trespassing into her house on May 19. Police suspect the accused held a grudge after the deceased had reportedly rejected his marriage proposal concerning her younger daughter.
