Digital Goa, May 12 – Following the drowning of the IIT Goa student from Ladakh at Okamb in Dharbandora, Deputy Collector Amitesh Shirvoikar has directed a series of preventive measures to curb similar incidents. A meeting was convened with officials including the Ponda and Curchorem Police Inspectors, Kullem PSI, Talathi and representatives of local panchayats to decide on enforcement of necessary measures.Authorities have identified drowning-prone spots, ordered continuous patrolling, and directed action against those consuming alcohol and swimming in restricted water bodies. Warning boards have also been installed at vulnerable locations.
