May 7 – The District Child Protection unit has released the details of 21 children in 8 years to 18 years age group whose parents and relatives whereabouts are not available stating that if no claimant comes forward to state that they are related to the child within 60 days, then the child will be declared legally free for Adoption. The children are presently staying in Specialized Adoption Agency in North Goa. As per Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015 the District Child protection unit has appealed to the claimant for the child like guardian, grandparents, relatives etc. to contact the Directorate of Women & Child Development, 2nd floor, old education building, 18th June Road, Panaji- Goa, Phone; (0832) 2235308/2426112:Fax: (0832)2424238, email: dir-wcd.goa@nic.in within 60 days. “If, no valid claims are made, the said child will be declared legally free for Adoption,” states the public notice.
