Digital Goa, July 1 – Goa govt has initiated the process to establish Agriculture Marketplace to help small producers in the state to find markets for their produce, while similarly facilitating local buyers in procuring these locally sourced items. The state agriculture dept has floated tender to this effect. The Agri Marketplace is expected to help small producers in the state, specially those dealing in local varieties of vegetables and fruits, to find markets for their produce, while similarly facilitating local buyers in procuring these locally sourced items. The proposed Agri Marketplace is also expected to use innovative methods and appropriate technology such as Mobile Apps, softwares, web based solutions etc to tackle the various challenges that face the sector. The turnkey solution shall include trained manpower to manage and operate the project, all technology required to support the solution, and publicity and capacity building.
