Digital Goa, Feb 12 – Agriculture Policy of the state is likely to be ready by March 2024, informed Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik. The Agriculture core committee held a marathon meeting today to finalise the insight reports of the 5 subcommittees centered around 36 focus areas. The same will be submitted to the policy drafting committee. Total of 3751 suggestions have been received from farmers, panchayats, elected representatives and other stakeholders for incorporation in the policy, informed dept officials. The state government has reconstituted a 24-member committee in June 2023 to work out a comprehensive agriculture policy for Goa. The committee headed by the agriculture minister has farmers, scientists, agriculturists, educationists, co-operative society representatives and various stakeholders as members.
