Digital Goa, June 9– The Goa government will begin the phased implementation of AI-based traffic cameras at 26 identified locations across the state, with a public awareness campaign to be conducted before enforcement begins, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said on June 9.
Chairing the State Road Safety Council Meeting at the Secretariat, Godinho said the awareness drive will help familiarise citizens with the new system and encourage safer driving practices. The meeting reviewed ongoing road safety initiatives and measures aimed at reducing accidents across Goa. Godinho claimed that coordinated efforts by various departments to address black spots and accident-prone stretches have resulted in a 17 % reduction in road accidents over the past two years.
