Oct 8 – Aided educational institutions have been asked to accept voluntary retirement applications of staff till Dec 14, 2024. An order to this effect has been issued by Education Director Shilesh Zingde. An office memorandum seeking applications for VRS was issued by the Directorate in Dec 2023 and the deadline for the same was set as Sept 14, 2024. Following this, the department had received several VRS applications from teaching as well as non teaching staff, however processing of the same was withheld as certain clarification were needed over applicability of the scheme. After getting the requisite clarification, the department has extended the time to receive the VRS applications to Dec 14.
