Digital Goa, May 8 – Directorate of Fisheries, has issued an order prohibiting fishing by vessels fitted with mechanical propulsion, trawlnets, and purse-seine nets along the state’s sea coast and territorial waters from June 1 to July 31, 2025. The ban aims to conserve fish resources. However, fishing by registered motorized canoes using only gill nets and with motors up to 10 HP is permitted.
