Jan 30 – Goa govt has issued a draft notification amending the Goa Motor Vehicle Rules to the effect that for motorcabs operating under an App-based Aggregators, the app will be considered as fare meter. This implies that the separate fare meter need not be fitted inside the cab. The following proviso, “Provided that, if the Motorcab is operating under an App-based Aggregator, the App may be considered as Fare Meter for the purpose of this rule, and the need for the printer shall not be mandatory in case the App has functionality to provide SMS/Email based invoices,” is proposed to be added to Rule 140 of the Motor Vehicle Rules. Objections and suggestions if any are to be sent within 15 days to the Director of Transport, Junta House, Panaji.
