Digital Goa, June 23 – Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) has invited applications from eligible Goan clay idol makers for financial assistance under its Scheme for Idol Makers for 2026.The scheme aims to encourage traditional clay Ganesh idol making, preserve the ancient art form and support the implementation of the ban on Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols in Goa. Under the scheme, registered artisans will receive a subsidy of ₹200 per clay idol of a minimum height of one foot, subject to a maximum of 250 idols per artisan. Subsidies will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Application forms will be available from June 24 to July 24 for ₹50 each at the GHRSSIDC Head Office at Patto, Panaji, and Aparant Emporium, Margao.
