Digital Goa, Mar 28 – Chinese origin Kazakh national Talaniti Nulaxi, 22, who was arrested by Cyber Crime Cell of Goa police from Delhi airport had come to India for planning to set up cyber-slavery call centers in India, Nepal and other neighbouring countries, informed DGP Alok Kumar. He was scouting for multi-story buildings for carrying out spamming operations, informed police. Cyber Crime Cell has arrested 2 more persons in the matter- 22-year-old Adithya Ravichandran from Coimbatore was nabbed from Bangalore and 36-year-old Rupnarayan Gupta was arrested in Mumbai. Nulaxi possessed residence cards from multiple countries, indicating the gang’s global reach. They allegedly lured Indian youth with job offers in Thailand, trafficked them to spamming compounds in Laos and Myanmar, and forced them into financial cyber fraud and honey trapping. The gang also rented Indian bank accounts and SIM cards for illegal activities.
The arrests followed the rescue of a Tiswadi resident from a Myanmar spamming compound earlier this month. Based on details shared by him, police tracked down the accused. Authorities have urged job seekers to verify recruiters on the MEA portal before accepting overseas offers.
Goa police have started periodic checks of agencies involved in jobs abroad, informed police.
