Digital Goa, April 21 – Goa Board recorded overall pass percentage of 84.99 % this year with 14,882 of the 17,511 students who appeared for the exam clearing it. Pass percentage for girls was at 88.06 % while 81.51 % boys cleared the exams. Commerce stream recorded maximum pass percentage at 90.78 % followed by Arts Stream at 86.33 % , Science Stream at 82.41 % and Vocational stream registering 76.45 % pass percentage. Incidentally, last year the passing percentage was 10.47 % higher than this year and stood at 95.46 % . This year’s higher secondary result is lowest in past several years. Goa Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetye said that the possible reasons for low results could be change in exam pattern in previous years. “Focusing is also an issue with students,” he added.
