Digital Goa, August 10 – The August 13 gathering at Azad Maidan will be a ‘melava’ (gathering) and not a protest, UTAA leader Prakash Velip said, adding that the notification has already been issued by the govt and the process for ST reservation has already started. Political reservation for Scheduled Tribes in Goa is expected to be in place by 2027, with four Assembly seats likely to be reserved, he said.UTAA leaders met CM Pramod Sawant at his official residence at Altinho and urged him to pursue the process for ST political reservation more aggressively. The organisation asserted that they want the process to be expedited so that the reservation is implemented by 2027.
