Digital Goa, Jan 8 – High Court has rejected the fourth bail application filed by Gaurav Bidre, the prime accused in the 2022 murder of a college professor. Despite arguments from the defense regarding a violation of the “right to a speedy trial,” Justice Shreeram Shirsat ruled that the trial is now making “steady headway.” The Court noted that a formal trial schedule has been established with the consent of all parties, and four witnesses have already been examined. Given the grave nature of the charges—which include murder and kidnapping—the Court refused to grant bail, directing the trial court instead to adhere strictly to the newly fixed timeline to ensure the case concludes within a stipulated period.
