Digital Goa, Aug 15 – Large group of people from Diwar and surrounding areas held a candle light protest near the Gandhi circle at Old Goa today evening demanding justice for the victims of the horrific accident at Banastari. Three people including a couple from Diwar had died in the accident while 3 others have been seriously injured. Alleging that they do not trust the Mardol Police, the protestors demanded that the accident case be shifted to CBI or Crime Branch for free and fair investigation. Some also demanded judicial probe into the accident and the incidents that followed. Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Phal Dessai said he will meet CM Sawant along with delegation of locals tomorrow evening.
