Digital Go, Aug 28 – Bypass alignment is technically not feasible at Bhoma so Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had dropped it(MoRTH), asserted PWD minister Nilesh Cabral today. Villagers have been opposing the highway expansion at Bhoma stating that several houses and temples will be demolished for the project. Cabral made a presentation to media persons to refute the claims of villagers and other supporters of the Bhoma protestors. Cabral gave the presentation using drone footage taken few days back and claimed that only four houses and 16 to 17 kiosks will be demolished for the expansion of the highway at Bhoma. No temple will be affected, as claimed by the villagers, he asserted. The four houses will be allotted 300 sqr mtr land each, he added. Cabral pointed out that several illegal encroachments that have come up on the land acquired for National Highway way back in 199. The same will be demolished, he said. On being queried about 64 notices issued by MoRTH to villagers, he said part of Survey no 6 is being acquired and as the survey number has not been partitioned all the houses in the survey number have been served notices. The Union ministry of road transport and highways has already sanctioned Rs 575 crore for the four-laning work from Ponda to Bhoma
