Digital Goa, Feb 5- The Goa Motor Vehicles Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024 to encourage registrations of high end vehicles in the state has been introduced in the assembly today. As per the bill vehicles costing upto 10 lakhs would be charged 9% of the vehicle cost. Vehicles costing between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh will be charged at 12% while for all other vehicles the tax would be 15 % of the cost of the vehicle with a capping of Rs 15 lakh. Similarly, the tax on high-end motorcycles above Rs 3 lakh has been capped to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh. The bill further aims to simplify the tax payments for rental cars and two-wheelers, which is currently payable annually, by converting it into a one-time payment.
