Digital Goa, Dec 10 – Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of Goa’s Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub—where a massive fire claimed at least 25 lives—failed to secure interim relief from a Delhi court today. Their plea seeking transit anticipatory bail has been posted for hearing on the following day. The Rohini Court refused to grant interim protection to the brothers, who are currently absconding. They had approached the court seeking transit anticipatory bail in connection with the Birch by Romeo Lane fire incident in Anjuna, Goa. Advocates Siddharth Luthra and Tanvir Ahmed represented the accused, while Senior Advocate Abhinav Mukherjee and Advocate Surjendu Shankar Das, Standing Counsel for Goa, appeared for the State. Goa Police said they strongly objected to the plea before the court while placing their arguments. The brothers have sought four weeks of transit anticipatory bail so that they would not be immediately arrested after they returned to Delhi from Thailand. They have also sought interim protection from arrest.
Luthra brothers had fled to Phuket in Thailand following the tragedy on the night of 6th December. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against them.
