Both District Hospitals to be equipped with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems for easy access to patient data

Digital Goa, Mar 4- Both the district hospitals in the state will soon be equipped with state-of-the-art Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for convenient storage and sharing of patient related images such as x-rays, scans, reports etc with medical professionals. Goa govt has floated a tended values at Rs 34 lakh for implementing PACS in both North Goa District Hospital and South Goa District Hospital under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Goa. The proposed PACS is expected to offer an electronic platform for images interfacing with other health IT automated systems of DHS such as a hospital information system (HIS), electronic health record (EHR) and radiology information system to facilitate data-sharing and provide clinicians with a more complete picture of a patient’s condition and treatment. The system is also expected to be supported by 24 X 7 call centre with toll free number. The tender is invited to appoint the agency/service provider for a period of three years.
