Aug 28 – Goa govt will provide financial assistance of upto Rs 2.5 lakh per month to palliative care centres and homes for senior citizens with terminal illnesses. The scheme will be applicable to existing as well as new centers. Social Welfare Scheme to provide financial assistance to govt and non-govt organisations running homes for senior citizens with chronic diseases like Parkinson , Alzheimer etc and Palliative care centers was approved by the state cabinet today. To be eligible to receive the assistance, the center should have minimum of 20 inmates.
