Digital Goa, June 20 – High voltage drama unfolding outside Calangute Panchayat building since morning finally came to an end after Sarpanch Joseph Sequiera apologised to the agitating crowd. “The letter to remove Shivaji statue has already been withdrawn. I apologise if I have hurt sentiments of anyone due to this letter”, said Joseph Sequiera addressing the crowd standing at the main entrance of panchayat building. He was surrounded by heavy police force to prevent any physical harm. The agitating crowd had confined Sequiera to his office since morning demanding apology. Agitators also resorted to stone pelting on panchayat building and cars. Finally, crowd dispersed late evening.
