Digital Goa, August 3 – Mardol Police have booked the driver of a Maruti Alto car in connection with the fatal road accident at Konem, Priol, in which a scooter rider later succumbed to his injuries. According to police, Savanta Ram Sutar, a resident of Karaswada, Mapusa, originally from Barmer, Rajasthan, has been booked for allegedly driving rashly and negligently on August 2. Police said Sutar was travelling from Ponda towards Mardol when, while overtaking another vehicle on a curved stretch near Adarsh Palace Hotel at Konem, Priol, his car collided with an oncoming scooter. The scooter rider, Datta Naik from Shenviwada, Shiroda, sustained grievous injuries in the accident and later died while undergoing treatment at hospital.
