Digital Goa, Nov 3 – A car rolled into the river at the Sarmanas ferry ramp in Bicholim after the driver, who was reversing the vehicle off the ferry, allegedly lost control. The driver said he applied brakes after spotting someone behind the car, but the engine stopped and the vehicle slid off the ramp into the water. He managed to open the door and jump out moments before the car plunged in. Fire & Emergency Services, along with large number of locals, later retrieved the vehicle by tying it with ropes and pulling it out of the water.
