Jan 10- The Union Government has released tax devolution of Rs 667.91 crore to Goa Government today. Center has released tax devolution of Rs 1,73,030 crore to State Governments across the country today in lieu of net proceeds of union taxes and duties. The tax devolution figure was much lower i.e Rs 89,086 crore in December 2024. A higher amount is being devolved this month to enable states to accelerate capital spending and finance their development and welfare-related expenditures, stated Union Ministry of Finance in a release.

CM Pramod Sawant stated that the significant support from the Center will enable the Goa govt to focus on capital investments in infrastructure projects and furthering the reach of vital social sector schemes across Goa.
